Just bought old 6-12 Allis Chalmers

I just bought an Allis Chalmers 6-12 tractor. This is my first real old tractor as my oldest one I have now is 1944.

Does anyone have a source of information on that tractor. I have looked on the internet, but I know that tractor collectors have other sources. I would like some kind of a manual, especially parts and operator manuals so I can see how this thing is built internally.

The engine was recently overhauled, so it runs really well (documentation provided). The clutch slips, so need to address that. Small radiator leak, but that can be fixed. I think it has the wrong carburetor on it, but that is the way it is.

It's my understanding that there's probably only a dozen or so of those that still exist that are in running condition. So, that being said, there's not a ton of knowledge or information out there on that particular model.

Congratulations! As Dr Allis stated, you have a rare machine, may I suggest you contact Norm Meinert,
He also has one, and is very knowledgeable in the parts and workings on the older Allis's

It has the LeRoi engine. The guy that rebuilt the engine did some serious work on it in that he rebuilt the crankshaft, camshaft, bought special made rings, and other things to rebuild the engine (also spent a lot of money). Then he painted the whole tractor, but looks like he just painted over the rust.

As someone said, I was really lucky to win the bid. As far as I am concerned it will not see a night outside again unless it is at a tractor show.
