Allis 170 hydraulic fluid leaking under steering wheel

This week I left my 170 idling for a few minutes and went to get back on there was a puddle on the ground. Hydraulic fluid is leaking out of the steering column just under the steering wheel.

Anyone have suggestions on how to fix it?

Thanks!

Orbitrol unit will need to be removed and replace the quad seal and one Oring at the top of the unit. Do NOT disassemble the whole thing. A seal kit is readily available from an AGCO Dealership.

Thank you. Can you point me to a drawing or parts book?

AGCOPARTSbooks.com.....sign in as a guest......AGCO-ALLIS 170/175..... seal kit p/n of 70239229. Get kit from an AGCO dealer. You will need a 5/16" 12 point socket of 1/4" drive to remove the bolts. If I had your orbitrol off and in my hands, it is a 5 minutes job to change out the leaking quad seal.

The seal kit is for an older model 170 that would have the hydraulic pump mounted on the side of the torque tube. If your hydraulic pump is under the radiator, I think the seal kit is a different P/n.
