9170 overheating

I have a deutz 9170 that's getting warm.
Fins are all clean and the fan looks
good. Just wondering if there's
something else to look for.

I thought that was the problem so I turned it down. Still is getting hot. If I run it all day the hydraulic will get warm too. I'm thinking it's a fan issue

The cooling fan is a fluid drive. There is a control valve on the engine that throttles oil to the fluid drive speeding up or slowing down the fan as needed. I believe that is where your problem is.

I took the washer out to make the fan
run all the time. Is it possible that it
is plugged or something?

You need to check your injection pump timing and set your valve lash. very critical on a deutz, also make sure your oil coolers are not dirty/ plugged and hoses are clear and not kinked. take a digital laser temp guage and check each cylinder /head when it gets hot. I bet you find one that's a lot hotter, that's your culprit.
good luck
