Could anyone give me a part number for a replacement starter solenoid for an early D17 Gas. Serial number for the tractor is 16815.

Tractor won't turn over. Was turning over then all of a sudden nothing. Good battery. Juice to the coil. Ignition switch works so it's got to be the starter, solenoid or wiring in between. im thinking anyway.

Thanks

My D-17 series ne has a common ford type 4 wire solenoid on it. One way to test the solenoid is this. #1 make sure it is out of gear and even better block the rear tires.
#2 use a jumper wire from the small terminal to the battery cable side of the solenoid. If it spins over that way you have a bad wire or bad switch. If that does not work then #3 use a heavy jumper and go across the 2 big posts. Doing that should spin it over and if it doesn't then you have poor connections some place or a bad battery or bad cables or bad starter

Looks like 70261441 in the AGCO parts book for the D17. A Standard Motor Products SS-547A may work. The store for this site likely has one as well.
