Allis Chalmers WD45 blown clutch

My 1955 WD45 has a blown clutch! Did it quietly too. I backed up to my pasture drag and when I went to go forward...wouldn't move. Pulled it to the shop and took down the inspection plate and got a pile of small springs. I reckon I just have to pull the radiator and pull the engine off the frame to fix it. Its got a foot and hand clutch. Am I gonna have a lot of trouble?

You can have the engine out in a couple of hours. Send the clutch to Rick Corder in Missouri. He is the best there is and priced as good or better than the aftermarket folks.

Do you have to take the engine out completely or can you remove the radiator and slide the engine forward and get the clutch out?

It has to come out completely. Radiator comes out and the steering shaft needs split at the u-joint and slid up. I've seen it done with the shaft left in tact, but it's a tight squeeze. A 3/4 socket in 3/8 drive and a long extension will have the 2 bolts in the rad out. Slide the extension through the hole in the frame rail from the bottom and put the socket on once you clear the hole. You need to turn the wheels for clearance if you have a narrow front.

Scott do what Aaron says. Rick is good, price is great. I've had my engine out in about 1 hour, but I have cement floor and engine puller. Simple lay the engine block down on the frame rails then put the clutch in. Please make sure you get the clutch disk in the right way. If you get in backwards the clutch will not release.
