check the eng (not locked up). most lickly the streering clutch will need tor down and cleaned
and readjusted ( thay are dry clutchs and will
rust up). If you are doing a complet restore this will not mater becose you will have it all tore down any way. just by it cheep !! ROBERT

Hi Robert,
Thanks for the tips.
What you you consider CHEAP on a unit like this.
Also, ballpark on the resto you described if possible. Are we talking $5k or $2K. Also, if a diesel is seized, can it be bored or honed like gas, or is it shot? Never tore down a diesel but I have a good friend that spent 22 years in the engine room on nuke sub for the USN, I think he would help if it is salvagable.

I have been the owner of an "Allis Chalmers" HD6E Bulldozer since 1981 it is in good shape and was started and worked last winter when the weather was 3 below zero degrees--I have the books for same--it is a good tight machine that needs a good owner to preserve it.--I'm hoping you will get back with me soon and I can exchange further information with you requarding my machine.
