Hello what dose a 918 weigh ?? I know of one that has been sitting for a few years the motor seems to be stuck it was parked because of algae in the fuel tank. what are they worth ?? I can fix. The anti freeze in radiator is up to the neck so the sleeves have not been broke from freezing water in the cyliners. thanks Bryan

The 918 backhoe weighs 18500 lbs (from original dealer brochure). The 816 backhoe is 16000 lbs as I had mine weighed on a scale. As for value on the 918 you have to take all odds into consideration when it's not running. Once the engine is running you find out if everything else is working like it should. The last 816 I had sat for 7 years. When running again the forward reverser would not work even though it worked when parked. When a machine sits unused for some years as you mention the engine does not turn over but also seals here and there can start leaking among other things. Working with the unknown you can end up spending far more money and time than you planned for and consequently hard to get your money back... look to get it for a good price.

I show about 4200 made so I consider that fairly rare. A friend has one and it's the only one I've ever seen in person so I would guess few exist nowadays. It's something I've always wanted. My 816B we estimated to be at least 12K (I think that was low) and the 918 is larger. There is a massive amount of steel in the mainframe. I think the deck plate was 2 inch steel at the mount point, so they are heavy.
If you don't buy it and it's west coast, let me know.
