Need assistance with D 17 Torgue Tube Seals

Hello;

I have a 1963 D - 17 Series III and now have the engine out for an overhaul.

I have the two oil seals that go behind the throwout bearing in a four point flange located at the front most part of the Torgue Tube.

Question is how do I safely remove the existing 2 seals and replace them with the 2 new ones?

Appreciate all the good help

I am not familiar with exactly what you are looking at but in general can you drill a small hole and start a sheetmetal screw in the seal and pull it with the screw?

Are the existing seals leaking? You may want to find equal to factory quality seals to go back in before hacking into the old ones. I have replaced rear axle seals on D14's, the factory seals are of heavy duty design. The aftermarket seals that went back in are not nearly as well made.
