I live in uk and I have an allis b I have mentioned here before .. there are no front holes to locate side weights.. is this unusual???

Not unusual at all. I have a couple that don't have holes in the plate that the side engine weights are mounted to. I thought about drilling one of those plates, but since I have the front axle weights, decided to just put those to good use. The front axle weights are probably better for your front end anyway, as they are below the pivot pin, thereby decreasing the wear on that part. David from jax

Must be an early one with the side brakes and riveted wheels.
Perhaps it is one of the very early ones with the Wakesha (?) engine?

What year is it? The early B's had a slab weight set up that bolt on the center of the front axle.

IIRC the B first came with foot brakes in 1940.

I am not sure of year of tractor but front wheels are held to hubs by rivets
