ok so I bought an other WD 1953 per the serial#
has a loader not sure of the make has a pretty beat up blade on it now and the drop bucket is still to get here last pic is of the loader tag what you can see of it
has a home made 3 point
new rear tires tubes and loaded last year
also came with a snow blower and a new set of tire chains
as new tires around here run in the $800 mark $700 delivered (about 200 miles) was not bad I figure
it does run and after draining the tank and fuel lines of crude n water it runs pretty good
going to have to clean up the carb as it's gummed up as well as I'm still getting chunks out the bottom drain
if you look you can see my 1950 WD in the background
also have a 1955 WD45 parts tractor
have the hood as well but I will need to replace the exaust gaskets so will wait to install it later
is the carb correct for this as it's more than twice the size of my other one and there isn,t one on the parts tractor

That's a Marvel Schebler carburetor which late WDs and WD45s had. Most early WDs used Zenith carbs which were smaller in appearance. They're interchangeable.

Loader is an Allis. The CA 8 was made for a CA. The WD 9 was the WD version. Didn't know a CA loader would fit a WD.

WD came with the Zenith 161AX carb, or Marvel-Schebler TSX149..... WD45 with the Marvel-Schebler, which is what you pictured. The curved shifter/constant mesh transmission came out in late "52, at sn 127008. Battery ignition/distributor 1953 at sn 136318, last WD at 146606.

a Marvel-Schebler carb
it's more than twice as big as the Zenith on my other WD
thought it was a ford carb by looking at it no (tags left)
at least the box of odds n ends that came with it has carb gaskets & seats

Today's Featured Article - Grain Threshing in the Early 40's - by Jerry D. Coleman. How many of you can sit there and say that you have plowed with a mule? Well I would say not many, but maybe a few. This story is about the day my Grandfather Brown (true name) decided along with my parents to purchase a new Ford tractor. It wasn't really new except to us. The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S ... [Read Article]
