I have a 5040 that has a relay or voltage regulator that is smoking. It is on the firewall. If I disconnect the brown ground wire on the mount it quits smoking but the voltage jumps to 16v at the battery. I am assuming it is bad but not sure and if so where to get a new one.[img][/img] third party image

I purchased a new voltage regulator and it also starting smoking. I checked voltage at the battery and it was 15.9 volts. Apprently something is wrong with my alternator. How did you hook up the single wire Delco?
