Allis Chalmers C water pump replacement

I got a replacement water pump for my 1942 Allis Chalmers C. Now I find the fan hub on the replacement is about 1/8" or so too big (diameter) for the sheave flange to fit over it. The replacement is made in Turkey. The bolt holes and sizes match up to bolt on the fan assembly.

Anybody have any experience with this problem? Are there different sizes of fan hubs or is this just someone after market manufacturer not measuring well. I probably could grind enough off to make it fit...any reason not to do that?

Thanks

I never have that problem.
I guess you can grind off the difference but be sure to remove the same amount off of each post and that it sheave fits tight. I might be better to machine it off in a lathe. LOL Bob

Thanks, Maybe I will take it to a machine shop. I will look again and see if I can take the hub off the old water pump and use it on the new. Do not want to mess up my new water pump.
