before all that, you should try to re-prime the pump by removing the filter and squirting some oil down the hole. Use enough to be sure the entire line and pump would be full. Also, make sure the little 4 or 5" tube is pressed into the filter housing and goes up into the filter. I threw mine away on 2 different tractors when changing the filters (like a fool.) because I didn't know they were supposed to be there. I hope priming helps, cuz the alternative sounds like a DRAG!! Rob, You the Man! Priming the pump worked. I now have 12-20 pounds of oil pressure. I guess the old gal just had a dry throat. If she loses prime, I will have to figure out how many times I can prime her before it's the same amount of trouble as splitting the torque tube...I suspect it will be a lot of priming.
