Guys,Got a Ross steerin gearbox torn down on the bench and I have a couple questions....Does the "cup" that the ballbearins ride in on the bottom of the steerinbox press out? And does this need to come out for proper reassembly? I removed the top cup when I pulled the worm an shaft but I cant tell if this bottom one removes and if it does which way you press it out(back into the gearbox or out the bottom? Dick L. or Maybe Steve could jump in or any one else who has had these apart. Thanks for any help, Sincerely, Hoss

Yes the cup comes out and you will need to do that to re assemble. The steering shaft with worm gear has a snap ring to hold it in. Be careful and don't lose it.

Have the same problem with my CA and the bottom cup was rusted into the bottom of the gearbox. ended up cracking it, now I need a new lower cup and all the bearing balls (there was almost nothing left of the balls) because only have about 2 that are round. What is the cup P# and are they available at NAPA or a bearing supply store.
