Question on No 7 Mower

Hello;

I am replacing the smaller bearings on the connecting rod that goes toward the sickle. . Some "felt" washers come out on each side of the bearing , not in great shape.

So, what purpose do these have, and should a man replace these with and with what?

I'm not sure about the felt washers on the mower, but on my WD the felt washer are oil or grease seals. Go to www.agcopartsbook.com and click view books to the right of the guest user. put 7 into the model portion and pick agco allis. then click search. the third one down will be 3 / 5 / 7 / B / C / B-IND / WC SICKLE BAR MOWER. this has the parts breakdown of the #7 mower and the part#s to get what you need from an agco dealer.
