Fill in the whole story. Did you or some one else leave the ignition on??? What has or has not been done??? How long was it since you last started it??? Things like that can help us help you.
That said the most likely cause is corroded points from sitting and not running. Easy ways you can test that is do a simple hot wire from the battery to the coil and if you have spark then your problem is from the coil back to the battery if you still have no fire then the problem is from the coil forward

Is the battery shorted or grounded? That would be how it is dead, and why it won't fire even after you charge it. I don't know what other symptoms you have, but I would remove the battery set the multimeter to ohms, and with all switches (Lights ignition everything open)off start hopscotching starting with the bat term.

If you have a distributor check the points and coil. Maybe the ignition was left on and cooked the coil or points and discharged the battery.

Today's Featured Article - Product Review: JB Weld - by Staff. JB Weld is basically an epoxy glue that does an exceptionally good job of bonding to cast iron and steel along with several other materials. It is sometimes used so well you can't tell its there and other times used as a sloppy quick fix. Finding where and how it can be used correctly is key to whether you are using it as an "inelegant hack" or an integral solution to difficult and expens ... [Read Article]
