starter switch 1950 allis chambers

i have a 1950 wd allis chambers with a auto-lite
starter. i need a starter switch. does anyone know
where a person can get one? or can delco remy switch
be modifed? thank you.

Think your only recourse is to modify a delco switch. Not too hard to do but unless your much better than me it will always look modified.

We had one of these starters for a WC modified at an electrical rebuilder by changing the switch lug to a threaded stud. We then mounted a Ford type solenoid inside the gas tank saddle pan, and wired everything up for a push button. Had another one modified similarly for a 1950 C with the solenoid mounted on the starter.Kip
