color of IB

I picked up a allis IB this weekend and under the orange paint is yellow. Should this tractor be yellow or orange ? The #is IB1252

Never had an IB but the Bs had a dull yellow primer under the orange.

Its my understanding that some of the highway departments IB's were yellow. Mine is orange.

Allis didn't use primer.
It wasn't necessary under lead based paint.
If you look at the old video of them painting, they paint on bare metal. All painting was done after the tractor was assembled, but befor the wheels were put on. Bob

yes the ib was painted yellow for the high way dept. i allso have one forsale in ohio for 2250.00 with the full frame around the front if anyone is int. 740 504 6033 thanks
