Oil fill for the Hydrolic lift

I just purchase a 1952 CA Allis Chalmers, The hitch lift does not work,it appears it is low on fluid. There is a cap in front of the rear axle on the right side that looks like where it should be filled. What oil does it take and where is the fill location?
I have ordered a service manual for it, but it will not be here for a week. I pick up the tractor this sat.
Thanks, Marv

Usually Originally you used the same oil you used in the engine..
Some prefer to use what they use in their other equipment..
What ever you use, keep it CLEAN..

As far as where the filler is, I do not know..

The B-C-CA tractors are all similar, The transmission - hydraulics and pto share the same oil. THe B-C transmission has a 1 inch pipe plug by your left foot to fill. I thought he CA was the same. THE oil is a light weight fluid. Most use universal tractor fluid, or HYTRANS. You can also use 20 wt motor oil, but the UTF is a better option.

The CA has a fill/check cap with a dip-stick with full/add markings, there is no filter so keep it clean, the drain should be at the bottom of the differenal, oil is for the diff, PTO, tranny, hydrolics. Hope this helps!!!!Dan

You will not find lube info, capacities, drain/fill locations in the service manual- all that is in the operator manual.

Same oil as trans/diff. I use the combo gear/hyd oil such as Hy-Tran.
Filler is on the left side, cap with dipstick. There is a 45° el sticking out of the trans case.
