49 B Rear Axle

Our '49 B has a rear axle with a 5-bolt flange rather than the tapered spline. I'm looking for the part numbers for the bearings and seals. Are they different from the standard rear axle?

Thanks in advance,
Jeff

No, seals and bearings are the same, you are only referring to the different HUB variations that are available. There were 2, one for the HEAVY cast iron WHEEL and 1 for the 9 BOLT hub for the light weight pressed steel wheel.

AC part number for the seal is 206450 which is CR25065.

AC number for the outer cone is 209900, cup is 209901 which is 368 & 362. I think these are Timken numbers.

AC number for the inner cone is 209889 which is 14138A.

AC number for inner cup is 209890 which is 14276.

This info is from very old books. May be some numbers converted. Seems as if both axles take same bearings.

Thanks for the info. My sons are still trying to get the axle out. We're thinking of trying a bottle jack to press it out as someone else described in an older thread here.
