Can anyone tell me whats wrong with this mag? PICS LOL!

My old WD quit, i noticed that there was a lot of aluminum dust on the frame of the tractor.
I pulled the mag and here is what I found

The same thing happened to my old Allis B, family tractor, bought new by my Dad in 1948. My brother and I were cleaning out the chicken house, weekly chore, and tractor was idling outside hooked to manure spreader. All of a sudden, huge bang. Allis never missed a beat. We were sure we'd find a hole in the block and oil all over. Instead we found a hole in the mag just like the picture. Dad wrapped the mag with friction tape to cover the hole. The impulse still worked, only on every other cylinder. We ran it like that for years, until I finally put a distributor on it in the 60's. I thought it was the only one that ever did that until I saw the pics!

I think the problem is... it's broken.
