AC 5015 - Oil Pressure

Hello:

I hope someone out there can give me a little info on my problem. The 5015 I have has 981 hours on it. New oil, filter, fuel assembly, and some good old cleaning.

Recently, the oil pressure light comes on after the motor has warmed up to operating temperature when it idles. As the PTO operating speed is reached, the light goes out. I've been told that a bearing is going. I was also told that the pressure switch could be bad or the oil screen needs cleaning.

I changed oil this Wednesday and went to SAE 40. That seemed to "cure" the problem until the oil got hotter from working her. The light didn"t come on until the engine was at idle.

Any ideas???

Thanks so much.

Don't automatically think that it's a bad bearing. We had a kubota on the turf farm, that had an o-ring harden up, on the oil suction line, and have the same symptoms, as yours has. I'd start out, removing the pan, and inspecting for bearing metal in the pan, then check for an obstructed screen, on the oil pump. then head upstream, and look for said o-ring, or a loose pipe, or similar malady.
