I was just wondering if anybody could tell me if there is any way to stop or at least quiet the gears? Is this a common issue on these tractors?
I was also wondering how i know if im suposed to have the above or below the hood muffler, starting a restoration!

Every B and C that I have had made a good bit of transmission noise and if your where the oil does not get to thick in the winter you can use the 85W-140 gear lube in it but if you have hyds they will be super slow when t is cold out or may not even work.

I have 6 different B tractors. Three of them have whine in the final drive gears. Just the cut of the teeth i think. Older (1940-42) see to be the worse. My 1952 is very quiet..
