My B runs perfect. Starts and runs great.The engine sounds smooth and has plenty of power,doesn't smoke and mows like a dream...right up until the point where it just dies and will not start. Is this a magneto problem? Is there a conversion kit to go to a distributor or what?

when the magnito gets hot, either the coil or the condenser opens up and no spark after that. When it cools off, it starts right back up.. Yes, you can buy a distributor and coil for the B and retrofit, but you can also buy a new magnito coil for $50. and a condenser and repair the old mag... You could just try the condenser first to see if that fixes it.. you can get the parts on this web site.

Do the trouble shooting you need to do the moment it dies. Check for spark when it dies. If no spark the coil in the mag is probably bad
