I have a late model D17 series 4 that needs the steering u joints. Has anyone had any luck buying just the u joint locally at bearing shop? Are they an odd size? The yokes are in good shape and hate to replace them. Thanks

Valu-Bilt is probably the most expensive place to get anything. I got new joints from Agco for $23...

I"ve had good luck at NAPA, but my NAPA is ag related and the manager knows ag equipment. YMMV

Yes you can buy just the u-joint. I however have not had any luck getting one from a local bearing shop. They are an odd size and I had to get mine thru Agco.

I also tried finding one for my D17 SIV at local bearing places and a place that rebuilt drive-shafts.....no luck.

Ended up ordering one from Value-Bilt

Today's Featured Article - Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
