pilot bearing lubrication

I am rebuilding the engine on my 1942 model C, and am wondering if the oil wick in the rear main is still necessary since my pilotbearing has a greese fitting in its rear. Is the wick still necessary to lubricate the pilot bearing where it comes into contact with the pressure plate? Any and every help as always, greatly appreciated!

Trying to lubricate the brass pilot bushing, other than at assembly, went by the wayside a long time ago.
The grease fitting lubricates the throw out bearing.

For many years I have plugged the hole for the wick in the crankshaft by running a pipe tap in the hole to make threads then screw in a pipe plug then fill the cavity about half full of grease. The grease fitting is for the throw out bearing not the pilot bearing.
