W road patrol sterring

I have a W that wonders down the road. A old Allis man said I need to take some shims out. He has aged to the point of not being able to comunicate anymore.

I plan on alot of hrs this spring with the W, so any help pointing me in the right direction will be helpful,

Thanks

You talking W Speed Patrol like the one I have?? Yep there are shims in the steering box you either add to or remove. I opened the one on mine many years ago way before I even knew about Y-T and did that which helped some but mine still goes all over the road in high gear. The parts book shows 2 shims in the steering box and also an adjustment in it.

Yes Mr Old, I am refering to the W road patrol. If you remember a few years ago, I sent you a owners manual, and got you started calling it a W, instead of what you called a WC road Patrol.

Thank You for being so helpful to me as well as others.

Well if it was you that sent me the manual is says right on it a repair parts list for the model "W" Speed Patrol, not a road patrol but that said there are a couple shims and an adjustment on the steering box
