Some friends of mine put a new clutch in one of the rear engine beauties, as well as a new pressure plate, and throw out bering. The thing slips like all H#ll! What could be wrong???

I put a new pressure plate in my G and had the same problem. I assumed the pressure plate was adjusted right. Wrong, after removing engine again and adjusting per the book, it worked find. Russ

Hello,
If you have free play in the pedal (should be 1") and the clutch is slipping then it has to come apart. it is possible the new clutch disc is too thin or the flywheel needs to be ground.
