model C mag question

my mag is firing between the towers on the cap. i got good spark at the points. which of the marks do i line up and which gear do i move the metal gear or the fiber gear?
it is a FM x4b3 mag? thanks

Unlike the FMJ, the FMX does not require disassembling the internal gears to change points and condenser. Did you disassemble the gears for other reasons? In any event, the "C" mark on the fiber gear should mesh with the marked tooth on the steel gear as shown here on an FMX:

Either gear can be moved as needed to obtain the correct mesh.
