How do I set the timing and point gap?

Set the points at .020. The timing is set with the engine running at rated speed. There is a round hole on the left side of the tractor in line with the engine flywheel. On the rim of the flywheel there are marks CENTER and FIRE. With the engine running at rated speed adjust the distributor so FIRE is centered in the hole. You may need to put a dab of paint on the marks so you can see them.
