AC C wide front

I have a 49 C with a tricyle front and was wanting to put a wide front on it. do these inter change with a B or a CA ?? thanks Roger

Been 15 years since I did it but yes. Converted on tricycle to a C wide front and had another C with a B front end. The CA wide front has only minor differences from the C wide front.

Mind the direction of the steering gear and drag link, using a real C wide front or CA eliminates that problem but if the donor is a B, this can be a problem. I've seen people hack the drag link on a C/B mix to invert it's push pull, so it's doable using the original, not pretty though. You will want to use the wide front's radiator support. The clean way if you get a B front end, is to get the B steering gear and replace.

CA front end radiator support has two bosses that will block putting the C grill on without drilling. It's cleanest to use the grill from the tractor donating the front end (if a CA) as that will fit. A C Grill on the B front end will work but have some sheet metal cut out that does nothing.

B Front end on a C may not give you the wheel spacing you need but that depends on how you intend to use it.
