Allis 716 Hydro Garden Tractor

I recently got a 716 hydro garden tractor and google doesn't turn up much on the machine. Are there any sites where the AC garden tractor guys go?
Just looking for basic info for now. I need an air cleaner and the disc in the back of the carb. Just a lot of little stuff.

The best site is Simple Tractors, link is below. The Allis 716H is the same as the Simplicity 7016H as Allis owned Simplicity at that time. The Allis has a Kohler 341 engine and the Simplicity had a Briggs I think, the rest of the tractors are nearly identical.

Carb parts will depend on whether it has a Kohler or Walbro carb. You can download a manual for the engine on-line. Will post a link in another post when I find it.

Air cleaner is a standard Kohler, easy to find a a store that sells mower parts. Bring the old one with you as it takes a taller one. Some eBay sellers have a tune up kit but the filter is the wrong one - too short...ask me how I know, LOL.

BTW - I bought an Allis 716H earlier this year as well.

Have you used yours yet? It seems like a pretty stout tractor. I really love the HUGE rear wheels. It doesn't seem as refined as my JD 318, but it is also 2-8 years older. (IIRC the first 318 is an '82 and the 716H was made from '74-'79)
I think I may turn this tractor into a plowing or rototilling machine. That way I don't have to switch stuff back and forth.
BTW, I need more then the paper filter for my air cleaner. When I got it it was missing the entire metal piece that goes over the filter! I looked on the Kohler website and I didn't see the right carb, but I can't find the spec number on the engine. I just did a randonm search under one of the Simplicity spec numbers. I would assume the spec number is on a silver tag like the KT series motors I had, but I don't see it.
I think I will just rebuild the carb right and drain and clean the gas tank right off the bat. I will go to Simpletractors and see if there are any other major things I should look at/take care of right off the bat.

Just like Briggs the engine spec, model and serial number is stamped in the flywheel engine cowling just either take the whole cowling or copy them down and take it to the nearest Kohler dealer and you"re good or go online and download the engine parts manual. This is unlike the new Chinese engines

Ebay is the one place you can find those parts usually cheap. Whole air cleaners for under $20.
As far as the "disc" in the back of the carb, I can't quite place what you are trying to describe. If it is a Kohler, many carbs on Ebay-just match up throat size (stamped 26 or 30) and look at the choke lever position.

I understand, that description it pretty bad. It is like a freeze plug looking thing on the backside. I am not really sure whey they are there, but you see them a lot on carbs that go at a 90* angle (inlet to outlet)

I hear you, but it isn't where it is supposed to be unless it is on the bottom of the flywheel cowling where you would have to take it off to see it. That is kind of why I wonder if it was the silver sticker type tag instead of a stamped number.
