D-17 Beachmaster

A friend"s widow has asked me to try and help her find out the best place to sell an Allis Chalmers D-17 Beach master Industrial tractor. It is a turbo diesel if that were to help. Also has a factory loader on it. She knows it is worth a good amount, but doesn"t know where might be the best place. Can any body offer me any advice to pass on?
Thank you

(quoted from post at 17:38:47 08/07/10) list it on ebay

The worldwide market is a pretty good place. The collector tractor auction they had in Walworth, WI would have been a pretty good one, too! The SMDV-TA sold for 52,000ish and most other stuff went fairly well. I think it was Mecam auction. They have all the prices listed on the site and most tractor have pictures.

Thank you, I am going to look up the auction site and pass it on. Not too sure about ebay, last time I used it the fees were getting pretty high and the payment options were not that good. It could very well be a d-19, it also has a factory loader on it. But it does not have the beach style tires that are in the pictures online.

I figure that would be something a good auctioneer could tell her about.

Thanks.

No it does not have the beach cleaner with it. My friend never got hold of one. I had been in the process of trying to chase one down for him when he had an accident.

I am going to pass on what info I have found this weekend. Thank you to those who replied.

Apparently they were manufactured from 1963-1964 and a grand total of something like 664 were made.

Would love to see a picture (or some video) of one in action.
