Shifter Boot

D17 Ser I...Anyone have experience using a "universal" shifter rubber boot from TSC? Seal/fit okay? No AGCO dealer for miles, and the shipping costs are killer.

Thanks

I just bought a $3 0-ring and $9 seal from the closest AGCO dealer- the shipping charge was more than the parts. Like I said, I was trying to see if I could get something local that would work...

Sandy lake is tops in service, but if you are looking for rock bottom low price, I think Steiner tractor parts catalog has the lowest prices on shifter boots. Just beware that the Steiner boot won't last as long in the sun, as the one Sandy Lake sells.

I have used a boot for the CV joint on a front wheel drive axle as a shifter boot. There are a variety of sizes so it should be easy to find one that fits. I used a hose clamp at each end to hold it in place.

Find a shop that handles standard transmission parts and ask for a New Process # XA94906 It"s the shifter boot for a 435 new process 4spd that came in millions of ford trucks and New Holland haystackers as well. They fit like a glove on lots of those old tractors. I sell them at work. Send me an e-masil if you"re interested.
