D-17 engine in a WD

Just found a 4 cylider gas engine out of a D-17 in good shape cheap. One of my wd's has a junk engine. Would this be a bolt in and go swap or a lot of fabricating? Has anyone done this?

Fairly easy bolt-in. Biggest issue is external oil lines need to be slightly re-routed to clear steering.

Be sure to use the 9 Spring Pressure Plate that was standard with the WD-45 or D-17..
The original 6 spring will most likely slip..

don't have too worry bout oil lines if it's a early d-17 only if it's a series 4 engine. whats wrong wit the 17??? much nicer tractor then wd

I do not own the D-17, my friend is building a puller and putting something else in his D-17. He went through the engine last year but now sold his cows and rented out the land so...I got the motor to do something with, I might as well put it in my WD.
