I recently called someone who was advertising an allis c with power steering (narrow front) when I talked to them on the phone the tractor had been sold, but I asked him how the power steering worked or if it was an error or something. The seller told me that he had power steering on his c that was run off the pump in the back (pump that is on a C from factory that is used to lift mower deck). He couldnt really explain to me how it worked and said I would have to see it in person.....My question is has anyone here seen how the pump on the back of an allis c can be used to lift an implement and for power steering? I would be interested in learning more about that set up. Thanks alot

The only one I ever saw was not really a power steering but a gear reduction unit that went on the end of the steering shaft and then the steering wheel mounted onto it. Made for a lot of wheel turning for a little sreering.

I bought a C that had a loader on at one time and they had put a power steering unit from some old auto. They rigged it on top of the C steering box and shortened the steering wheel shaft. They had a bracket welded to the generator bracket and mounted the pump with fluid reservoir and ran it off a double pulley they had on the generator. I don't know how well it worked because the tractor was not running and I scrapped the concoction before I overhauled the engine.

I can't imagine why you'd want power steering on a C. I never even heard of that before. Did it have a loader?
