allis C timming

Need help getting an allis C timed. I have the number one cylinder at top dead center on compression stroke. Is the number one cylinder at the front of the engine?
Also this tractor has a mag. So which is the number one plug wire on the cap. Thanks

Try <a href="http://www.worldpath.net/~thompson/acb/magtiming/magtiming.htm">this</a>. It's for a B but a C with a magneto should be the same.

that mag information is ok for a fairbanks mag. If you have a WICO then it does not apply. I found that out the hard way. The fairbanks and the wico have different no. 1 wires on the cap
