7040 failing to start

In trying to start my 7040 all lights on dashboard went out as though batteries were dead. Checked batteries and tried to charge but they did not seem to take much charge. Per meter they seemed fully charged. I also checked battery connections. Anyone have any ideas what to check? Thank you.

I would disconnect the batteries one at a time with a load tester because one weak battery will drag the other one down. You should be showing well over 12 volts with a volt meter on each one. I'm saying both batteries but does it have four battery start? That makes it even more important to check each battery. IMHO

You said something Tom,but didn't finish it.Did or do the dash lights come back on after you try to start it?If they do,then you have a bad conn,bat.,cable.If everything is dead now, then check, there is a fuse block or panel on the front side of the cowl in the engine compartment that controls the cab or dash needs.

Thank you for replies. Had load check on batteries and were okay. Found the problem to be a poor connection on battery cables.
