D17Farmer - Ring Pinion Question

I just researched the ring and pinion interchangability for a friend who is attempting to slow down his WD-45 Gas for orchard work.
The A-C part number (#245766) for the ring and pinion set is the same for the WD-45D, all the D-17s and the 170/175. Hope this helps.

brian theys gonna be alot of tractor junkyards happy but when the guys trying to change them out find out the newer series d17 and 170s want fit they gonna be maD.

I must defer to you regarding this since you undoubtedly have the hands-on experience. However, someone should get Agco/Allis to correct their parts list diagrams and part numbers.
I realize their are differences in the diffentials in the late D-17s which carried over to the 170/175, but the part numbers for the pinion and ring gear sets are the same as is the number for the "housing" to which ring gear is bolted.
If I am wrong, I truly appologize.
