allis B clutch shifter tube

I read my manual, and it says on the B model that shifter tube must be tight in the torque tube. and The shifter tube is 5 1/2" from end of tube to housing.

I was wondering how tight ? I can push the tube into place using my hands, would that be to loose?

the manual does not say anything on how to install clutch shifter tube.

thanks for any tips you may have , Jim

I would think if you can push it in by hand, that's too loose. The throw out bearing collar slides on the tube so it should not move. If it were mine , I would clean it and the torque tube with brake clean and reinstall with loctite and hope for the best.
good luck
Dennis

thanks, I was thinking on the same lines/ but nice to hear what others would do also. thanks again Jim
