Just thought I'd ask if anyone has any latest and greatest methods for cleaning gas tanks. And if not what is the considered to be the best method. Thanks, Ive got to do one soon.

Put some roofing tacks, small bolts and nuts etc in the tank. Plug all the outlets. Wrap it in an old blanket. Strap it to the rear wheel of a tractor with bungee straps. Drive around a while. remove tacks, bolts etc. Wash with kerosene or diesel. I just did one of mine this way. It worked pretty well. You may want to have a magnet handy to remove the tacks.

If you want a permanent trouble free tank lining job, Google "redkote". They will give you the step by step directions to get all the rust out.
