has anybody modified a governor on a wc to increase rpms for tractor pulling

To modify 'most ANY governor for higher speed you need to increase spring tension (heavier spring or pull the existing one farther) OR lighten the governor weights.

Have FUN and stay out of the way when pieces fly!

Like Bob says, go to a different spring, WD, WD45, D17- and catch the pieces.

yes ,all the time . cut the weights change springs make gov lever longer 5500 rpms .

agco has a gov. spring for a wc,it comes from a 175.i think it runs about 1800 rpms.for about 40 bucks you are the new owner.
