I have a D14. It does go through a lot of points. It has been converted to 12V.My question does it need a reducer from (12-6) will that help the points last..Or the heck with that and switch it to Electronic ignition. Pro Cons Thanks

Yes, It should have a ballast resistor in the ignition line to the coil.
The other way is to get a coil with 3ohm internal resitance like the one in the link.

John at the Brillman Company and Steve at B&B can supply you one.

You can also try NAPA
Coil

If you are using negative ground, the negative side of the coil needs to go to the points or it will burn them out prematurely.
