Your just Lucky! Have you taken the cover off to see if the gear caused the damage or the govener bearing. If the gear didn't fly apart there should not be any thing to speek of in the pan. I have three of the B and C engines tore down in my shop and when you get ready to work on it I can walk you through it here, Email, or by phone. If you can't find parts VanCamp has the in Fort Wayne.

Yep, you can get by if you jack the front up and put blooks or a jack stand under the front of the tourque tube. then it's easy to remove the front end, grill, radiator, fan, water pump, crank shaft pully, oil pan, ect. You then have to take off the front plate or timing gear cover, it is just a flat plate held on by three bolts after the govener cover and the front steering post is off. It realy wont be that bad, it can be done in a half of a day after you have all the parts. I have taken the pan off my C to check the rods, on the trailer, an hour before I pulled out to go to a pulling contest. On the parts, you might have lost the cam gear also. Dick
