CA clutch engaged

Just purchased this 1956 CA and the clutch pedal is all the way forward. I can move the tranny thru all gears without pushing in the clutch or any tension when you try to push it. (its blocked so it doesnt roll anywhere). I tried to push the pedal rearward(to engage it) but it is very hard and it only moves an inch or two. I can push it forward again with the same amount of resistance. I did not see any keeper or lever that is holding it in so I think maybe there is something else wrong. I bought this and a stuck(1940) B tractor for parts, so I have alot of work ahead. Can anyone help? Oh the CA engine does turn and the young man said his dad had it running two years ago before he passed away. HELP!

Could be a number of thing wrong. Rusted up pedal etc. Bad pressure plate or throw out bearing. Or could have a mouse nest in there causing big problems

Thanks I am going to try the easy thing first PB Blast the moving parts on the pedal maybe that is the problem. I didnt even think about that!

Hey it really worked! The clutch pedal was stuck/frozen. I looked again at the CA noted that the battery had leaked long time ago and probably rusted/fused the shaft and clutch petal together. Sprayed the heck out of it and continued moving it back and forth. Finally it started to move freely and now works great. Thanks old for the easy fix suggestion.
