Allis B cutting out

I have a 42 Allis B that runs sweet other than when it"s warm outside. It will run good cultivating four or five rows then it starts sputtering and then dies. I can give it gas and keep it running but it will not do any more work cause it stalls. I haven"t gotten the electric working on her yet and because of that I can crank her and get it started. Any ideas? Coil? Gas? Or maybe something else? Could use the help.

Could be trash in the gas. Have you checked the strainer? The coil or condensor may be breaking down but nearly every time this happens to me though it's a gas feed problem.

Pull the entire sediment bowl assembly out of the tank and clean it good. Alot of times junk from the tank gets in the sediment bowl inlet hole and slows down the gas flow into the bowl.

The first thing I would do is remove the gas cap, take the fuel line off at the carb and blow compressed air back thru the gas tank. That will clear the lines for a long enough time to trouble shoot other causes if that does not solve the problem. If that solves it you know then you will need to clean the tank. I bought anew cap for one of my Olivers that failed to ave a vent and would run for a short time. When I started to remove the cap I could hear the hiss s I broke the seal. Other times I have found the seditment bowl inlet up in the tank packed with rust fines. Other times I have found a large washer in the tank and one time I found a rag in a tank.

Check to see if have fire at plugs immediately after it dies. If no fire then or fire comes back after it has cooled down you can suspect the coil. If you still have fire then"s most likely a fuel or carburetor problem.

Kris ran it the other day and it was late in the evening and it never missed a bit. I suspect when it"s hot (mid day) it"s hot enough to cause the problem. Kris ran it earlier and it was mid day and it cut out. I really think the tractor gets to a heat and if it"s cool outside it will not have a problem but just that little bit of outside heat and she will act up. That"s why I suspect the coil to be the problem. I"ve not had gas problems with this tractor and as you know it runs pretty good. I just would like to have it operate when I want it to and because of my health when others like you help out. I"d like to get the electric fixed so I could start it like normal people do. Any idea as to where I could get a 8 volt battery? Thanks Phil and to all of you thanks.
