allis 190 engine swap

i have a allis 190 gas, with a 265 ( g2500 ) that has a bad engine.. i purchased a replacement engine, which was supposed to be a 265, but ended up being a 262 ( gas as well ). Can someone tell me if the 262 will fit in place of the 265 ?? thanks

if interested i have a 1967 190xtd gasser w/ a cab for sale w/ a great engine and the trans needs some work cheap.

By "fit" I assume you mean bolt in? If so I seriously doubt it as the 262 is an old Buda design while the 265 was one of the new family of engines that includes the 301. I know the 301 wont interchange with a 262 so I doubt if a 265 will either. There are 301 gas egines also and they should also be a bolt in affair.
