Hi guys. There"s an AC CA for sale nearby that"s all there, starts and runs well but burns a LOT of oil, and needs a cosmetic fix-up. They want $1250 firm for it. Is this too high considering it needs rings (at least)?

Well if the rubber is good all the way around and the rims are also good that is pretty much right in the ball park. Since you know very little about its history it could be as simple as filling the cylinders with ATF and letting it sit a few days. I've had more then one that smoked like crazy but after doing the ATF thing they stopped smoking

If it has all the snap coupler hydraulic lift stuff attached and working she sure would be worth that arund here. I have no idea what it sells for up there in the forest. :)^D

You never did tell me if you knew Zale Miller who was a teacher in the West Branch school system for many years or his wife Willadean Miller who was the County recorder or something at the court house.

Depends on what you want snap couple lift or 3pt=use of implements, will cost about $400-$500 for a good 3pt set-up..You need to see if the hand clutch works for live power and (does not slip) under load pulling something and if the tranny pops out of gear, those 2 are the main allis problems for a CA.New rings and gaskets $130 can't remember bearing costs.I have owned a few and they are nice tractors.Fair price to me if the 2 items above are ok.

Old, I found one in southern NM hot area and the old dude wants $400 for it. Has CA on the sheet metal, adj front end, adj spinout wheels, weights. The tank is off but he said he had it running 2 years ago and just hasnt messed with it. Can over the exhaust dont know if it turns over. The tires were flat but didnt look at it too close wasnt sure if $400 was worth it. Also dont know where the SN would be at. What do you think?

$400 shoot if the rear rims are in good shape they are worth the $400 by them selfs. So yep $400 is good for that tractor at least it would be where I live but there also isn't many CAs in my area. Now to be sure it is in fact a CA it will have a 4 speed tranny and if I remember right the serial number is just forward of the shifter like the B/Cs are but the CA has one more gear in the tranny then the B/C has

Thanks I really appreciate your help and tips I will call the guy and go pick it up. I have a C with a broken engine and mostly picked over with not many parts left but maybe there will be some if I need one or two. thanks again.
