AC/G governor

My Model G has just been overhauled. Now the governor doesn't open up without encouragement.

Any ideas?

The governor is a really simple unit. Check for binding in the control rods. If they are free pull the governor. You should be able to find the problem without too much trouble. Just a bearing and a shaft.

The first thing I would try would be to back the damper screw out some. It doesn't take much until you would start to surge so just small adjustments at a time.
