Good Day, I have an IB (serial #1029) (1948) that was originally orange then painted drab green. I was wondering if this old girl had been in the military or just a victim of surplus paint..... ..any ideas? Thanks in advance

The miltary used a lot of different tractors. The Army usually painted them drab green. They had big Case tractors back in the early 1950's with dual tires on the rear and were used for towing big artillery to the firing ranges for test firing. They were very fast too. Hal

Coulda been either, but chances are unless you find some kind of military markings...stencils, stickers...on the OD paint, it was probably not a military piece. i have seen a couple Case VAIs and a VA tug that in the service, they all had some sort of military markings even if they were mostly gone.
